Beginning in 2008, The Main Store at the Henry Ford has seen a number of incremental improvements. We developed a series of exhibit-relevant ‘boutiques’ throughout the store and implemented a number of small improvements to fixtures, paint and decor. In 2015, it was decided that the store would see a major change.
A bold new layout to open up the sales floor, centralize the point-of-sale, new flooring colors and feature elements became essentially a complete remodel of the main store. Our goal was to relate back to the essence of Detroit to include props and fixtures that are representative of the industrial time period and complement the museums’ collections and artifacts.
